Japan is a country that gives a lot of importance to food but Japanese food is not Japanese anymore.
60% of its food is supplied from abroad and Japan is one of the least self-sufficient developed countries in the world.
To tackle this problem one solution is that Japanese start to eat local again.
We talked with Yuki Homma (the director of Tohoku Kaikon) about Taberu Tsuushin, that has the aim of creating connections between local producers and consumers in cities, and to bring a continued relationship between the two, and the current situation of food and agricolture in Japan.
